Iran's President Hassan Rouhani said that the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to share its experiences in the fight against COVID-19 with the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).
Hassan Rouhani delivered a speech at the 20th meeting of member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, which was held virtually and hosted by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Trend reports citing IRNA.
Rouhani expressed gratitude to Vladimir Putin for organizing the summit.
"Today, the world is in a serious situation; On one hand, the coronavirus pandemic, in addition to posing a serious threat to human life, has had profound and devastating effects on human way of living, especially people's livelihoods,” he said.
The president noted that the fight against COVID-19 requires a coherent and unified approach by the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in coordination with the United Nations and the World Health Organization to ensure full, free and fair access to health services and medical equipment.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran provided humanitarian assistance to improve the situation in some countries in the region and is ready to share its experiences with the member countries of the Organization in the fight against the coronavirus,” he added.
