Azerbaijan's import of limestone, cement down in 10M2020

The volume of foreign trade turnover of salt, sulfur, limestone, and cement in 10M2020 amounted to $52.8 million, which is $4.3 million or 7.6 percent less compared to 10M2019, Trend reports citing the statistical bulletin of the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan.

According to the bulletin, the value of the above products’ exports from Azerbaijan over the reporting period made up $22 million, down by $3.4 million or 13.6 percent year on year. The share of the products in the total export of Azerbaijan grew from 0.15 percent to 0.18 percent.

Meanwhile, the value of the salt, sulfur, limestone, and cement imports to Azerbaijan declined by $866,000 (2.7 percent) year on year, equaling 30.7 million manat ($18 million). The share of the products in the total import of Azerbaijan grew from 0.28 percent to 0.35 percent.

From January through October 2020, the foreign trade turnover of Azerbaijan made up over $21 billion, which is 25.7 percent less compared to the same period of 2019. Of this amount, more than $12.2 billion or 58.25 percent accounted for export, and the remaining $8.8 billion or 41.75 percent – for import.
