The iron ore concentrate production of nine major Iranian steel companies increased by 5 percent during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through November 20, 2020) compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports citing Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).
During the reporting period, these companies produced 33.2 million tons of iron ore concentrate. This figure was 31.5 million tons in the same period last Iranian year, according to the report.
"Thus, Golgohar Mining and Industrial Company produced 11 million tons of iron ore concentrate, Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Company - 7.6 million tons, Middle East Mines Industries Development Holding Company (MIDHCO) - 4.26 million tons, Gohar Zamin Iron Ore Company - 3 million tons, Central Iron Ore Company of Iran - 2.76 million tons," the report said.
In addition, Sanabad Inclusive Development Industrial and Mining Company produced 1.63 million tons of iron ore concentrate, Opal Parsian Sangan Industrial and Mining Company - 1.55 million tons, Sabanour Mining and Industrial Development Company - 992,000 tons and Jalalabad Iron Ore Complex – 277,000 tons over 8 months of the current Iranian year, the report said.
According to the report, furthermore, the iron ore pellets production of 3 major companies decreased by 45 percent in the 8th month of the current Iranian year (October 22 through November 20), compared to the same month last Iranian year. Thus, about 838,000 tons of iron ore pellets were produced in the 8th month. However, this figure amounted to 1.53 million tons in the same month last Iranian year.
So, Iranian Central Plateau Iron Ore Mines Company produced 382,000 tons of iron ore pellets in 8th month, the Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Company - 313,000 tons, and the Central Iron Ore Company of Iran -143,000 tons.
