The exports from the Ardabil Province (northwestern Iran) increased by 94 percent in terms of value during the first 10 months of the current year (March 20, 2020, through January 20, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Ardabil Province Ramin Sadeghi said, Trend reports citing the organization’s website.
Sadeghi noted that within 10 months, $194 million worth of goods were exported from Ardabil Province. The exports from the province are expected to be increased in the remaining two months.
He added that the potatoes and rubber products accounted for the main part of the province's total exports in previous years. However, 60 percent of the province's exports in the current Iranian year are industrial products.
The chairman said that the province's goods are mainly exported to neighboring countries, including, Central Asia and the Caucasus countries. The focus is on increasing exports of value-added products.
There are more than 1,000 small and large manufacturing enterprises in 21 industrial parks in Iran's Ardabil Province.
