The annual maintenance turnaround at Kazakhstan’s Tengiz oil and gas field in planned for later in 2021, the Chevron official told Trend.
In 2020, Tengizchevroil (TCO) operating on Kazakhstan’s Tengiz oil field has informed its shareholders on the decision to postpone its annual maintenance turnaround at Tengiz until 2021 given the current COVID-19 situation.
Chevron official said then that measures taken are designed to protect the health and safety of company’s workforce, while preserving safe and reliable production operations and maintaining critical path activities of the integrated Future Growth Project-Wellhead Pressure Management Project (FGP-WPMP).
“Currently, TCO’s production activities continue uninterrupted, and the company continues to plan for its annual maintenance turnaround planned for later in 2021,” the official said.
In 1993, Tengizchevroil LLP was established on the basis of an agreement between Kazakhstan and Chevron. The company operates the Tengiz oil field in Kazakhstan.
The Tengiz oil field was discovered in 1979 and is one of the biggest and deepest oil fields in the world. The total explored reserves of Tengiz reach 3.2 billion tons, while recoverable reserves range from 890 million tons to 1.37 billion tons.
