Kazakhstan increases iron ore output

The production volume of iron ores in Kazakhstan has amounted to 32.1 million tons from January through June 2021, which 4.5 percent more than during the same period of 2020, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

According to the data, iron ores production amounted to 5.4 million tons in June 2021, which is 9 percent more than in June 2020.

Production of copper ores increased by 23.5 percent during the reporting months having amounted to 62.7 million tons (10.2 million tons in June 2021, an increase by 46.4 percent compared to the same month in 2020).

Production of zinc and copper ores amounted to 3.1 million tons during the reporting period, which indicates a decrease of 13.4 percent compared to the same period of last year.

The production volume of zinc and copper ores was 488,300 tons in June 2021, which is 13.5 percent less in June 2020.

Production of gold ores amounted to 15.4 million tons over the reporting period, which is 27.7 percent more than during the same period of 2020. The volume of gold ores produced in June 2021 was 2.9 million tons, which is 41.6 percent more than in June 2020.

Production of lead and zinc ores amounted to 4.3 million tons, which is 44 percent more than during the same period of 2020 (858,900 tons in June 2021, up by 93.2 percent compared to June 2020).

As reported, the production of manganese ores amounted to 572,600 tons, which is 78 percent more than during the same period of 2020 (119,600 tons in June 2021, an increase of 2.2 times compared to June 2020).

Production of chrome ores amounted to 2.8 million tons, which is 12.9 percent less than during the same period of 2020 (506,000 tons in June 2021, a decrease of 8.2 percent compared to June 2020).
