Iran’s exports through customs of Markazi Province soar

The exports of Iran through the customs of the Markazi Province (central Iran) increased by 99 percent in terms of value and 7 percent in terms of volume during the first 4 months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through July 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Director General of Markazi Province Customs Office, Esmaeil Hosseini said, Trend reports citing IRNA.

According to him, 472,000 tons of goods worth $371 million were exported through the customs of the province within the 4 months.

Hosseini added that the main exported goods were hydrocarbons, heavy and light polyethylene, aluminum ingots, food products, rubber products and etc. These goods were mainly exported to 80 countries, including Turkey, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Uzbekistan.

The director general noted that furthermore, 42,000 tons of goods worth $155 million were imported through the customs of the Markazi Province over the 4 months. The imports increased by 67 percent in terms of value and 4 percent in terms of volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.

“The main imported goods were raw materials, bottles for fruit juice, equipment and spare parts, steel wires, bananas and so on. These goods were imported from 41 countries, including the UAE, Turkey, China, India and Germany,” he said.

Hosseini stressed that the customs revenues of the province in the four months amounted to about 724 billion rials (about $17.2 million). This is an increase of 186 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year.
