ICCIMA discloses details of Iran’s trade of polymer products

Iran's trade in polymer products (plastics and rubber) amounted to more than 1.5 million tons worth $2.1 billion during the first three months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through June 21, 2021), Trend reports citing the statistics of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA).

According to the statistics, Iran exported 1.3 million tons of polymer products worth $1.58 billion to 73 countries. The exports increased by 76.8 percent in terms of value and 9.7 percent in terms of volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.

Iran exported 874,000 tons of polymer products worth $1.03 billion to China, 115,000 tons worth $143 million to Iraq, 91,000 tons worth $126 million to Turkey, 35,000 tons worth $49 million to India, and 29,000 tons worth $38 million to Afghanistan.

Also, Iran exported 18,000 tons of polymer products worth $24 million to Russia, 16,000 tons worth $24 million to the UAE, 19,000 tons worth $24 million to Uzbekistan, 16,000 tons worth $22 million to Bulgaria and 13,000 tons worth $17 million to Azerbaijan.

“Moreover, Iran imported about 200,000 tons of polymer products worth 520 million in the three months. The imports increased by 21.4 percent in terms of value and 22.7 percent in terms of volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year,” the statistics said.

So, Iran imported 50,000 tons of polymer products worth $140 million from China, 60,000 tons worth $132 million from the UAE, 21,000 tons worth $61.2 million from Turkey, 10.7 million tons worth $25.5 million from South Korea, and 10,900 tons worth $18.8 million from Malaysia during the 3 months.

Iran also imported 2,700 tons of polymer products worth $16.5 million from Germany, 7,600 tons worth $11.2 million from Taiwan, 2,300 tons worth $6.5 million from Iraq, 3,000 tons worth $6.2 million from India and, 1,400 tons worth $5.6 million from Italy within the mentioned period, the statistics said.
