Iran launches several industrial enterprises in Iran East Azerbaijan Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Sept. 13

As many as 86 industrial enterprises in the East Azerbaijan Province (north-western Iran) were put into operation during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2021), Deputy Chairman of the Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of the East Azerbaijan Province Arash Negahban said, Trend reports citing the organization.

A total of 8.38 trillion rials (about $199 million) has been spent on the operation of these enterprises and as a result, 1,650 people have been employed, according to Negahban.

The deputy chairman added that the number of enterprises put into operation within the mentioned period, increased by 8 percent, the expenses on these enterprises by 20 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

“These enterprises were put into operation mainly in Tabriz, Azarshahr and Shabestar counties. The enterprises are operating in the production of equipment, metal products, rubber and plastic products, chemicals,” he said.

Negahban stressed that in addition, 95 industrial enterprises in the province were developed over the 5 months. About 12.4 trillion rials (about $295 million) has been spent on these enterprises and 1,060 people have been employed in a result.

The deputy noted that there are currently 4,120 enterprises operating in the province. A total of 234 trillion rials (about $5.58 billion) has been spent on these enterprises. Currently, 126,000 people work in these enterprises.
