Iran and Switzerland trade ties drop to a minimum - Chamber of Commerce

TEHRAN, Iran. Nov.4

Trend:

The trade between Iran and Switzerland is declining and has dropped to a minimum in recent years, head of Iran-Switzerland Joint Chamber of Commerce Sharif Nezam Mafi told Trend.

"Swiss companies are currently active in Iran, trading grain and medical equipment. These companies didn't leave Iran after the US withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)," Nezam Mafi noted.

He pointed out that these Swiss companies have strong positions as investors in Iran.

Iran's exports to Switzerland include semi-manufactured tools in the medical sector, nuts, processed equipment for construction industries and fast moving consumer goods (FMCG), as well as some oil products.

On the other hand, the Islamic Republic imports essential goods from Switzerland.

Prior to US withdrawal from the JCPOA , Swiss companies directly invested in Iran, and Iran used to import the latest technologies from Switzerland.
