Iran's exports of food items declines

TEHRAN, Iran, Nov.15

The export of food items from Iran is declining due to rising costs of production in the country, said the Secretary of Iranian Food Industries Federation, Trend reports citing ILNA.

Statistics by the Trade Promotion Organization indicate export of food items was equal to half of the country's import during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2021), Mohsen Naghashi noted.

Iran's import of food items in the first half of the current Iranian year was $10.7 billion.

The price of basic materials is increasing daily for food manufacturers that causing the closure of some units.
