Rovshen, a Turkmen private footwear manufacturer, plans to open a new factory in 2024, aiming to increase its exports.
The factory, capable of producing several million pairs of shoes per year, will be built on a seven-hectare plot of land already owned by the company in the Mary region.
The facility's construction, which is expected to employ 800 people, will begin early this year. Outfitted with automated equipment the factory will be designed to produce all parts of the footwear, including soles from natural raw materials and textiles.
The factory will be built within the framework of Turkmenistan’s President National Program for the socio-economic development of the country for 2019-2025.
Currently, the company produces approximately 500 pairs of shoes per day, primarily from domestic leather raw materials.
Since 2003, the company has been manufacturing footwear and exporting it to Russia, Uzbekistan, and Afghanistan. The Turkmen manufacturer's products are also available in Moscow's Domodedovo region, where it intends to establish footwear production in the future.
