Iran has imported 1.05 million tons of various types of cooking oils, from the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021) to December 26, an official of Iranian Government Trade Corporation (GTC), Hojjat Baratali said, Trend reports citing the corporation’s website.
According to Baratali, Iran imports cooking oils that are stored in facilities after processing and are sold in the country under the needs of the market.
The official also added that 930,873 tons of various edible oils were sold in Iran from the beginning of the current Iranian year to January 11, 2022.
In order to meet the country's needs, Iran imports a number of food products, including rice, tea, wheat, barley, oil and others.
