Kazakhstan’s agriculture, forestry, and fishery gross output amounted to 428.8 billion tenge ($837.5 million) over the period from January through February 2022, which is 1.6 percent more compared to the same period of the last year, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.
Some 423.9 billion tenge ($828.04 million) accounted for agriculture alone, including 30.1 billion ($58.9 million) accounting for plant growing, and 393.7 billion tenge ($769.03 million) - for animal husbandry.
The increase in the agriculture, forestry and fishery gross output during the reporting period was due to the increase in eggs output by 15.4 percent, milk by 1.4 percent, meat and poultry by 0.4 percent.
Turkistan region leads by the total value of agriculture, forestry, and fishery gross output, which reached 76.9 billion tenge ($150.3 million) from January through February 2022, showing a 0.6-percent increase compared to the same months of 2021.
This includes 18.7 billion tenge ($36.6 million) worth of plant growing output and 57.1 billion tenge ($111.5 million) of animal husbandry output.
Second and third places accounted for Almaty and East Kazakhstan regions.
Agriculture, forestry, and fishery gross output in the Almaty region amounted to 64.8 billion tenge ($126.6 million), which is 2.5 percent more than during the same period of 2021.
This includes 4.02 billion tenge ($7.8 million) worth of plant growing output and 60.2 billion tenge ($117.6 million) of animal husbandry output.
The value of agriculture, forestry, and fishery gross output in the East Kazakhstan region amounted to 47.7 billion tenge ($93.1 million), which is 7.5 percent more than during the same period of last year.
This includes 2.04 billion tenge ($3.9 million) worth of plant growing output and 45.1 billion tenge ($88.2 million) of animal husbandry output.
An increase in agriculture, forestry, and fishery gross output were observed in 12 Kazakh regions during the reporting period.
