BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 17. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Khorramshahr port of the Khuzestan Province (south-western Iran) increased by 3.65 percent in the 12th month of the last Iranian year (February 20 through March 20, 2022), compared to the 11th month (January 21 through February 19, 2022), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
According to the statistics, more than 333,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the port during the 12th month. Of this, about 316,000 tons were loaded and 17,000 tons were unloaded.
Meanwhile, 316,000 tons of cargo were exported and 15,900 tons were imported through the Khorramshahr port over the reporting month, the statistics said.
Also, 352 tons of cargo were loaded and 753 tons were unloaded in this port for transit, while 541 tons of cargo were loaded and 250 tons were unloaded for other purposes within the same time month.
According to the statistics, 3,090 tons of essential products, 33,400 tons of metal products, 278,000 tons of construction and mining materials, 4,770 tons of equipment, were loaded and unloaded in the Khorramshahr port in the 12th month of the current Iranian year.
Moreover, 4,060 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 142 tons of small and assorted goods, 9,730 tons of container products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.
About 12.2 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 12th month of the last Iranian year. Of this, 6.2 million tons were loaded and 5.98 million tons were unloaded. This is a decrease of 5.3 percent, compared to the same month preceding Iranian year.
