Azerbaijan's import value of precious stones up in 4M2022

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 8. The total import of precious and semiprecious stones, and natural pearls by Azerbaijan increased by $2.9 million (38.18 percent) from January through April 2022 on annual basis, Trend reports via the statistical bulletin of the State Customs Committee (SCC).

According to the committee, the import turnover of these products amounted to $10.5 million, and the share in the country's total imports increased from 0.22 to 0.26 percent.

The SCC also said that export of precious and semi-precious stones, as well as natural pearls in the first four months of this year equaled $49.2 million.

Meanwhile, the total volume of foreign trade turnover for precious and semi-precious stones, as well as natural pearls stood at $59.7 million, which is 18.5 percent less than in 4M2021.

Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover totally increased by $5.97 billion (60.3 percent) from January through April 2022 compared to the same period of last year - from $9.8 billion to $15.8 billion.
