Buy/sell operations at Iran Mercantile Exchange decrease

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 3. In total, 1.96 million tons of goods worth 113 trillion rials (about $2.69 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME), during the last Iranian week (September 24 through September 29, 2022), Trend reports citing the IME’s official website.

This is a decrease of about 48.6 percent in value and 35 percent in volume compared to the preceding Iranian week (September 17 through September 22, 2022).

So, 3.02 million tons of goods worth about 220 trillion rials (about $5.23 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME).

According to the report, about 1.63 million tons of goods worth 63.9 trillion rials (about $1.52 billion) were sold in IME's industrial and mining products section last week.

The main products sold in this section included cement, iron ore, steel, sponge iron, zinc, aluminum, copper, molybdenum concentrate, precious metals concentrate, gold bars and etc.

In addition, 328,000 tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth about 48.4 trillion rials (about $1.15 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of IME last Iranian week.

The main products sold in this section were polymer substances, vacuum bottoms, lube cuts, chemicals, sulfur, base oil, bitumen and etc.

At the same time, 5,750 tons of various products worth 760 billion rials (about $18 million) were sold in the submarket section of the exchange.
