BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 2. Non-oil exports from Iran’s Markazi Province increased by 15 percent in volume in the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Director General of Markazi Province Customs Office Alireza Sadeghi said, Trend reports.
The director general noted that about 910,000 tons of non-oil goods worth approximately $551 million were exported via the province’s customs in six months.
Sadeghi added that the main exported items were hydrocarbons, polyethylene, glassware, fruit juice, liquefied gas, chemicals, iron and steel ingots, and others.
He also pointed out that the mentioned goods were exported to 75 countries, mainly Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, and Türkiye.
Overall, Iran exported 67.7 million tons of non-oil products worth over $24.1 billion in the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2023). This is an increase of 2.62 percent in value and a decrease of 29 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
