BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 30. Iran’s start-up companies and state companies and institutions have signed a number of contracts worth 16.6 trillion rials (about $395 million) in the fields of steel, copper, agriculture, and biotechnology during the first 8 months of the current year (March 21 through November 21, 2023), said Iranian Vice President Rouhollah Dehgani Firouz Abadi, Trend reports.
He made this remark at the meeting of the Cabinet of Iran in Tehran on November 29, 2023.
Firouz Abadi noted that 26 contracts worth 8.6 trillion rials (about $205 million) were signed for the production of steel, copper, and related products.
The Vice President also said that 21 contracts worth 8 trillion rials (about $190 million) were signed between state institutions and start-up companies for the purpose of applying innovations in the fields of agriculture and biotechnology.
He added that Iran began the production of nanostructured catalysts this year. This created an opportunity for the country to export catalysts worth $1 billion a year.
The Iranian government has created certain opportunities for these companies to benefit more from the potential of start-up companies in various fields, including energy, agriculture, and industry, and provides them with various loans to enable the companies to operate more strongly.
