AZERBAIJAN CARRIES OUT $5,1BN EXPORT-IMPORT TRANSACTIONS

Azerbaijan maintained trade relations with 128 countries of the world over 8 months of 2005. Foreign goods turnover reached $5.1 billion with $2.2 billion export and $2.9 billion import, Trend reports.

This figure is 22.1% higher than 2004. Export growth comprised 5.7% %, import вЂ" 37.9%.

A total of 32.2% export-import transactions fell to the European Union countries, 30.7% - the Commonwealth Independent States (CIS) countries, 37.1% - other countries.

A total of 53.6% goods turnover fell to Europe, 42.5% - Asia, 2.9% - United States, 0.8% - Africa, 0,2% - Oceania.

Over 80% of trade operations fell to Singapore, Russia, Italy, Turkey, the UK, Turkmenistan, France, Iran, Germany, China, Ukraine, Georgia, Croatia, Greece and the United States.
