By the end of June, second run of demonstration train along Poti-Baku-Aktau-Almaty is organized, Trend reports quoting TRASECA nationals secretary from Azerbaijan Akif Mustafayev. At the moment the train is loaded in Kazakhstan. The train will go along Almaty-Aktau-Baku-Poti, he said.
National secretary said China, which is the main source of container cargos in Asia, is greatly concerned in this project. China already requested the train operation conditions. Thus, the second run ha a big significance for raising Chinas interest.
Today Azerbaijan, Georgia and Kazakhstan are examining prolongation of train route to Dostyk station near Kazakh-Chinese border. The uniform rate 22 cent per ton*lm of distance is applied.
Experts say at the moment some 3 to 4 percent of total cargo flow from Europe to Asia and back again is currently passing Russia due to applied damping rates. Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Georgia are going to draw a part of cargos to transport them along TRASECA corridor.
