Georgia, Tbilisi, May 13 / Trend N.Kirtzkhalia /
Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili met with the USAID Deputy Administrator Donald Steinberg this week.
The delegations discussed the construction of a high pressure gas pipeline in Poti, the Georgian administration reported. More than 25 thousand families will receive natural gas after the pipeline's construction.
Saakashvili thanked Steinberg for the projects that were implemented by USAID in Georgia.
The project cost of $115 million is funded by USAID with U.S. assistance. Aid is provided to Georgia after the Georgian-Ossetian conflict of 2008.
The gas pipeline will link the Senaki district with the Poti free industrial zone. As a result, the pipeline will be supplied to Poti, Senaki, Hobie and Samegrelo.
The project was implemented in collaboration with the Georgian Petroleum Corporation.
