Azerbaijan, Baku, July 15 /Trend, E.Ismayilov/

SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) considers the opportunity to participate in the privatization of the Greek DEPA gas concern, the head of SOCAR Rovnag Abdullayev said Friday.

He said DEPA is fully open to privatization, and SOCAR is studying the possibilities of the Greek company and the economic viability of acquisitions.

"If this corresponds to the interests of the State Oil Company and is economically feasible, then SOCAR is ready to buy shares in DEPA," said Abdullayev.

Azerbaijani gas is re-exported to Greece by the Turkish Botas. It is expected that after the signing of a transit agreement by Turkey and Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani gas will be delivered to Greece directly.
