Iran halts super gasoline import

Iran restarted the super gasoline production unit in Abadan Oil Refinery by daily production of 4 million liters per day and halted super gasoline import, Mehr News Agency reported.

Iran launched fluid catalytic cracking unit in Abadan Oil Refinery [after repairing some units] again on Sunday.

Previously, Managing Director of international affairs in National Iranian Oil Company Mohsen Ghamsari stated that although Iran became independent from gasoline import the country still imports super gasoline.

More than $250 million was invested on the additional refinery for super gasoline.

After implementation of development plan, Abadan Oil Refinery will produce super gasoline with 93 octane and daily production of 250 tons of propylene, 330 tons of gas to feed petrochemical industries alongside 100 tons sulfur.

By implementation of this plan, the oil products in Abadan refinery will increase by 430,000 barrels per day.
