Azerbaijan, Baku, April 24 /Trend E.Ismayilov/

Currently, daily volume of gas injection into underground gas storage facilities in Azerbaijan is more than 10 million cubic meters, according to a report released on Tuesday by the production association Azneft of State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR).

"Gas pumping into underground gas storage facilities started in early April due to the warming and the decline in gas consumption," a statement said.

There are two underground gas storage facilities in Azerbaijan - Kalmaz and Garadagh.
As source in SOCAR told Trend previously the volume of gas remaining in the underground facilities in Azerbaijan amounted to 1.19 billion cubic meters after the season of selection. More than 595.85 million cubic meters from the total amount of remaining gas fall to Garadagh and 593.54 million cubic meters to Kalmaz.

Around 3.25 billion cubic meters of gas was pumped at the end of injection season compared to 3.05 billion cubic meters last year.

Some 1.92 billion cubic meters of gas have been selected from the underground gas storage facilities last season of selection compared to over two billion this year, due to severe weather conditions, which were observed throughout the country during the winter.
