Baku, Azerbaijan, Dec.28
By Emil Ismayilov - Trend:

In 2013 SOCAR, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan intends to supply about 1.5 billion cubic meters of gas under a contract with the Russian Gazprom, the head of the State Oil Company, Rovnag Abdullayev told the journalists on Dec.28.

The SOCAR's head said that similar volumes are to be supplied next year.
Referring to the possibility of increasing the supply to three billion cubic meters, Abdullayev said this would be impossible due to increased gas injection into the reservoir at the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli field block.

The head of the company said that in the future, volumes of supplies may be increased at the expense of gas from the fields of Umid, Bulla Deniz and others.

Deliveries of Azerbaijani gas to Russia are realised on the basis of the contract, with a possibility of extension for the purchase and sale of Azerbaijani gas. The deal was signed between SOCAR and Gazprom in Baku on October 14, 2009, in Baku.

According to a supplement to the contract which was signed in early September 2010 in Baku, in 2011, Gazprom was to receive two billion cubic meters and in 2012 over two billion cubic meters of gas. However, according to the results of last year, the Russians did not get the full amount of the planned volume.

The additional agreement to double the volume of Azerbaijani gas purchased by Russia was signed by both sides in Sochi on January 24, 2012.
