SOCAR signs licensing agreements within GPC project (UPDATE)

Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR signed licensing agreements with Technip, Univation Technologies, Axens and Sinopec Tech as part of a project to establish the Gas Processing and Petrochemical Complex (GPC) in Azerbaijan, SOCAR said in a message posted on its website Dec. 20.

Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR signed licensing agreements with Technip, Univation Technologies, Axens and Sinopec Tech as part of a project to establish the Gas Processing and Petrochemical Complex (GPC) in Azerbaijan, SOCAR said in a message posted on its website Dec. 20.

According to the agreements, SOCAR will acquire licenses for using the appropriate technologies from Technip, Univation Technologies, Axens and Sinopec Tech under the GPC project, the message said.

In their turn, the companies-licensors will provide SOCAR with certain engineering and design solutions for the project.

SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev and officials of the companies participating in the project delivered speeches at the signing ceremony, the message said.

US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Robert Cekuta, French Ambassador to Azerbaijan Aurelia Bouchez, ambassador of Italy to Azerbaijan Giampaolo Cutillo and ambassador of China to Azerbaijan Hong Jiuyin also attended the ceremony.
