Turkish Botas state pipeline company imported 38.2 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas from different sources in 2016 compared to 41.3 bcm in 2015, Botas said in a message posted on its website Feb. 2.
Turkey imports gas from Azerbaijan via the South Caucasus Pipeline (Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum).
The country has a contract for the annual purchase of 6.6 bcm of gas from the Azerbaijani offshore gas and condensate field Shah Deniz.
Around 686 million cubic meters (mcm) of gas accounted for the export operations of Botas in 2016, as compared to 635 mcm in 2015.
Botas also said that 37.04 bcm of gas was sold in Turkey's domestic market in 2016 compared to 41.06 bcm sold in 2015.
