The US-based corporation Westport Trading Europe Limited (WTL) has won a tender for completing construction of a complex of delayed coking and tar deasphalting installations in Turkmenistan, reports the online newspaper Nebit-Gaz.

The first installation is designed for processing tar, fuel oil and asphalt to get additional volumes of gas, gasoline, light and heavy gas oil and petroleum coke.

The second installation is used to extract paraffin-naphthene hydrocarbons – deasphalted oil – from tar for further production of oils and asphalt.

WTL is also developing projects to get new types of products from hydrocarbon raw materials, which have not been produced in Turkmenistan before.

Turkmenistan annually produces about 10 million tons of oil, the biggest part of which is processed at local plants.
