Stagnation was observed in the country's car market for several months as a result of increase in energy prices in Iran in previous years, then the situation normalized, secretary of Iran's Vehicle Manufacturers Association, Ahmad Nematbakhsh said.

He said the amount of money that citizens have stimulates the demand for car purchases, Trend reports referring to IRNA.

Nematbakkhsh added that there is a difference between the market car prices and the value of a car at a plant, which keeps the demand at a high level.

Under the new fuel regulations, each driver is allowed to buy 60 liters of fuel a month at 15,000 rials (35 cent) per liter. Each additional liter costs 30,000 rials (71 cent).

After gasoline prices increased in Iran, the price of cars worth 1 billion rials (around $23,800) increased by 50 million rials (around $1,190), the price of cars worth 1-2 billion rials (around $23,800-47,600) increased by 200-300 million rials (around $4,760-7,140), the price of cars worth 3 billion rials (around $71,400) increased by around 500 million-1 billion rials (around $11,900-23,800).
