Kazakhstan, Canada may jointly implement geological projects

Kazakh Minister of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources Magzum Mirzagaliyev met with Special Envoy of Canada to the European Union and Europe - Canadian Ambassador to Germany Stephane Dion, Trend reports citing the Ministry.

During the meeting, the parties noted the development of bilateral economic relations between Kazakhstan and Canada, and also discussed the possibility of implementing joint initiatives.

In particular, Mirzagaliyev named exploration among the priority sectors for enhancing cooperation and invited Canadian investors to Kazakhstan.

“Kazakhstan has many promising projects in the field of geology, we are ready to present them and will be glad to cooperate in this field,” the minister said.

Mirzagaliyev noted that the "Investors One-stop-shop" working group was created with the participation of foreign and local investors under the auspices of the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources, with the aim of attracting investment, as well as supporting investors engaged in geological exploration.

In addition, Kazakhstan, according to a number of world experts, has made a real breakthrough in improving the investment attractiveness of exploration and the mining and metallurgical complex as a whole.

The meeting participants also discussed climate change issues, methods of combating global warming.

The head of the Ministry of Ecology informed that Kazakhstan plans to develop a strategy that will determine the ways to implement the Paris Agreement until 2050 and the most favorable economic development scenarios.
