Azerbaijan exports over 145,000 tons of gasoline, diesel fuel to Georgia

Azerbaijan exported 145,700 tons of gasoline and diesel fuel to Georgia from January through November 2019, Trend reports referring to the Union of Georgian Oil Product Importers.

In the reporting period, import of gasoline and diesel fuel to Georgia totaled 992,600 tons, which is 1,600 tons or 0.2 percent more than in the same period in 2018 (991,000 tons). In particular, the gasoline imports amounted to 501,900 tons, (an increase of 3,800 tons or 0.8 percent compared to the same period last year).

From January through November 2019, the import of RON-91 gasoline amounted to 328,600 tons or 65.5 percent, RON-95– 163,600 tons or 32.6 percent, and RON-98– 9,700 tons or 1.9 percent.

During the reporting period, import of diesel fuel amounted to 490,700 tons (a decrease of 2,200 tons or 0.4 percent compared to the same period last year).

Diesel imports declined in the first eight months of this year, but statistics have improved significantly since September.

In particular, for eight months of 2019, imports of diesel fuel amounted to 327,700 tons, which is 42,900 tons or 11.6 percent less than for the same period in 2018 (370,600 tons).

For 11 months of 2019, Georgia imported the largest volume of gasoline and diesel fuel from Russia – 297,600 tons, or 30 percent of total imports.

This is followed by Romania - 276,600 tons (27.9 percent), Azerbaijan – 145,700 tons (14.7 percent), Turkmenistan – 111,100 tons (11.2 percent), Bulgaria – 85,500 tons (8.6 percent), Greece – 55,300 tons (5.6 percent), Turkey – 19,300 tons (1.9 percent) and others.
