Iran leads in supply of fuels and lubricants to Georgia

In January 2020, the import of fuels and lubricants into Georgia amounted to 1,700 tons, which is 500 tons or 41.6 percent more than in January 2019 (1,200 tons), Trend reports citing Union of Petroleum Importers of Georgia.

As reported, last month, Georgia received the largest volume of imports of fuels and lubricants from Iran - 400 tons, which was 23.5 percent of total imports of fuels and lubricants.

Other countries, that exported fuels and lubricants to Georgia, include Turkey - 200 tons (11.7 percent), Russia - 100 tons (5.9 percent), Germany - 100 tons (5.9 percent), and Ukraine - 70 tons (4 percent), etc.

In January 2020, aviation fuel imports to Georgia amounted to 5,400 tons, which is 800 tons more than in January 2019 (4,600 tons).

Last month, 3,400 tons of aviation fuel (62.9 percent of the total imports during this period) was imported to Georgia from Turkmenistan, 1,900 tons (35.1 percent) from Romania and 200 tons from Turkey (3.7 percent).

Imports of oil bitumen to Georgia amounted to 3,200 tons, which is 900 tons or 28.1 percent less than in January 2019 (4,100 tons).

Some 2,700 tons (84.5 percent) of oil bitumen were imported to Georgia from Iran, which is followed by the United Arab Emirates - 200 tons (6.2 percent) and Azerbaijan – 200 tons (6.2 percent).

In January 2020, imports of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) to Georgia amounted to 4,000 tons.
