World’s proven natural gas reserves in GECF estimates

Worlds proven natural gas reserves have changed from 196.188 trillion cubic meters in 2010 to 205,141 trillion cubic meters in 2019, Trend reports with reference to estimates of Gas Exporters Countries Forum (GECF).

GECF proven gas reserves, including observers, stood at 129,095 trillion cubic meters in 2010 with 124,383 trillion cubic meters accounting for members and 4.712 trillion cubic meters accounting for observers.

GECF share in 2010 world proven natural gas reserves was 66 percent.

In 2011, world proven natural gas reserve estimates rose to 200.071 trillion cubic meters, continuing the upward trend with 200.135 trillion cubic meters in 2012, 200.966 trillion cubic meters in 2013, before dropping to 201.004 trillion cubic meters in 2014.

The volumes fell further to 199.795 trillion cubic meters in 2015 and recovered to 201.291 trillion cubic meters in 2016 and continued the upward trend with 204.514 trillion cubic meters in 2017, 204.608 trillion cubic meters in 2018 and 205.141 trillion cubic meters in 2019.
