Kazakhstan's Tengizshevroil wraps up overhaul of equipment ahead of time

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Sept. 27

Trend:

The overhaul, which started on August 1, 2021, was aimed at maintaining the reliability and safety of the equipment of Kazakhstan’s Tengizchevroil (TCO), Trend reports referring to the company.

According to the company, this year, preventive work has been focused on the Sour Gas Injection (SGI) facility and the Second Generation Plant (SGP) at the Tengiz field.

“The close partnership between TCO and contractors contributed to the safe completion of the overhaul. We also appreciate the support provided by the state authorities of Kazakhstan,” said Kevin Lyon, General Director of TCO.

“I’m impressed with the amazing skills of the team, which completed a total of 1.4 million man-hours as part of the overhaul.”

The implementation of the overhaul required extensive planning from the technicians and sanitation specialists to protect employees and carry out work safely amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since the start of the pandemic, TCO has implemented a number of protective measures, which include a large-scale employee vaccination program, capsule separation of personnel (separation of personnel in living quarters, transport, and workplaces), PCR testing, and self-distancing.
