BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 8. A record-high volume of petrochemicals, 17 million tons, will be produced in Kazakhstan this year, the Board Chairman of KazMunayGas National Company JSC Magzum Mirzagaliyev said during a meeting with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Trend reports.

At the meeting, Mirzagaliyev informed Tokayev about the decision to postpone scheduled repairs at the Shymkent and Atyrau refineries, which will allow to additionally supply up to 150,000 tons of diesel fuel to the domestic market. Besides, Kazakhstan Railways National Company will import up to 100,000 tons of diesel fuel.

The company’s representative also informed about the progress of KazMunayGas projects in the petrochemical industry. At present, commissioning has been completed at the plant for the production of polypropylene in the Atyrau region. The launch of the enterprise is expected within a month.

Along with the above, the president was informed about the progress of projects for the production of polyethylene and butadiene, and the current situation at the sea terminal of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium.

Mirzagaliyev added that oil loading into tankers in the sea terminal is carried out steadily, and shipments are carried out according to the schedule.
