TEHRAN, Iran, November 3. Iran’s capacity in production of petrochemical products has reached 90 million tons, while the country has exported $15 billion petrochemical products in last Iranian year (started March 21,2021), said Managing Director of the National Petrochemical Company of Iran Morteza Shahmirzaei, Trend reports citing IRNA.
"The country currently manufactures 22 petrochemical products, having absorbed more than $4 billion worth of investments in some petrochemical projects," he said.
Shahmirzaei predicted Iran would increase its manufacturing of petrochemical products from 90 million tons to 200 million tons in the next ten years.
According to the official, about 70 percent of petrochemical commodities and equipment are domestically produced by Iran.
