Azerbaijan boosts gas exports to Türkiye

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 4. Azerbaijan increased natural gas exports to Türkiye by 9.12 percent in February 2023 compared to the same period in 2022, from 747.52 million cubic meters to 815.73 million cubic meters, Trend reports via the Turkish Energy Markets Regulatory Authority (EPDK).

As such, Azerbaijan ranked third in terms of natural gas exports to Türkiye in the reporting period.

Russia became the largest exporter of natural gas to Türkiye in February this year with supply volumes standing at 2.066 billion cubic meters, which is 12.20 percent less compared to the same period in 2022.

The US came in second with 1.021 billion cubic meters, down 31.07 percent from February 2022.

Türkiye reduced gas imports by 4.16 percent compared to February 2022 from 6.273 billion cubic meters to 6.012 billion cubic meters, of which almost 3.147 billion cubic meters were imported via pipelines, and 2.864 billion cubic meters were LNG supplies.

Türkiye's gas imports through pipelines decreased by 12.92 percent, while LNG imports increased by 7.75 percent compared to February 2022.
