The Governor of Central Bank of Iran (CBI) has indicated the necessity to limit transactions via POS machines, therefore according to new policies each person with one's national identity code can transfer around $4,000 by bank cards.
"We have issued a new announcement that only allows the transfer of 500 million rials (approximately $4,000) from one bank card and according to this plan each individual with identity code can transact this amount of money by a POS machine," said Abdul-Naser Hemmati.
The collapse of Iran national currency has lead people to purchase foreign currency and gold alongside other valuable properties.
