Iran provides certain loans in trade sector

Iranian banks issued loans worth 426 trillion rials (about $10.1 billion) in the Iranian trade sector during first two months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through May 21, 2021), Trend reports citing the statistics of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

According to the statistics, the loans worth 15.4 trillion rials (about $386 million) were issued in connection with the establishment of enterprises and other opportunities in the trade sector during the reporting period.

"Within the two months, 262 trillion rials (about $6.24 billion) worth of loans were issued in the trade sector as working capital," the statistics said.

Furthermore, Iranian banks issued loans worth 592 billion rials (about $14 million) for the repair of enterprises and 24.5 trillion rials (about $583 million) for the development of enterprises in the trade sector, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, at the same time, 123 trillion rials (about $2.92 billion) worth of loans were issued for the purchase of personal assets, 587 billion rials (about $13.9 million) for the purchase of housing and 175 billion rials (about $4.16 million) for other purposes in the trade sector.

As reported, the Iranian banks issued loans worth about 2.74 quadrillion rials (about $65.2 billion) in various economic sectors in the first two months of the current Iranian year. This an increase of 46.6 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year.
