Iran announces amount of investments made in its West Azerbaijan Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 12

A total of 21 trillion rials (about $501 million) has been invested in the establishment of manufacturing enterprises in the West Azerbaijan Province (north-western Iran) from the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021) to June 10, said Gholamreza Babaei, Chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of the West Azerbaijan Province, Trend reports citing the organization’s website.

Babaei noted that this amount of investment was invested in the establishment of 334 manufacturing and industrial enterprises. About 6,230 people are to be employed with the launch of the enterprises.

The chairman added that also, 28 licenses were issued for the establishment or development of industrial enterprises in the province during the first 2 months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through May 21, 2021). About 1.28 trillion rials (about $30.4 million) has been spent in this regard.

“There are currently 2,040 enterprises operating in the West Azerbaijan Province. In general, 74 trillion rials (about $1.76 billion) has been spent on these enterprises and 58,000 people have been employed. In addition, there are 309 enterprises under construction in the province, which have a physical progress of more than 60 percent. About 23.7 trillion rials (about $565 million) has been spent on these enterprises. And as a result, about 8,340 people will be provided with jobs,” he said.
