BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 25. The loan portfolio of banks in Azerbaijan grew by 3.1 percent (637 million manat, or $374 million) to 21.29 billion manat ($12.5 billion) in June 2023, Trend reports.
According to the statistical bulletin of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), the total liabilities of the country's banks exceeded 39.3 billion manat ($23.1 billion), and balance capital made up nearly 5.9 billion manat ($3.4 billion).
During the reporting period, business loans accounted for 54.7 percent or more than 11.65 billion manat ($6.85 billion), consumer loans for 29.7 percent or 6.3 billion manat ($3.7 billion), and mortgage lending for 15.6 percent or 3.3 billion manat ($1.9 billion).
In the structure of the loan portfolio of banks, 2.3 percent fell to the share of non-bank credit organizations.
The assets of Azerbaijani banks in the first half of 2023 amounted to over 45.2 billion manat ($26.5 billion).
