BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 21. Representatives of Azerbaijan's executive and legislative authorities can work together on draft laws regarding the development of a green economy in the country, Chairman of the Azerbaijani Parliament Committee on Economic Policy, Industry, and Entrepreneurship Tahir Mirkishili told Trend.
"I suggest three ways to develop green economic bills. First, give green technology investors tax breaks. Second, consider raising funds (perhaps with foreign resources) to finance green technology and energy projects. Third, develop documents that lessen private sector risks to encourage private sector investment in "green" climate technology projects," Mirkishili noted.
According to him, the second direction of possible work, i.e. financing of "green" projects, will require large funds, as the realization of such projects is associated with risks.
"International partnerships with state backing are recommended for specific funds. Overall, we are thinking about the development of these areas and may work on them in the future," the head of the parliamentary committee added.
