Turkmenistan is working to reduce prices for Internet services, expand the sphere of digital education and digital medicine, e-commerce services, create modern information systems in all sectors of the economy, and use advanced technologies, Trend reports with reference to the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.

New tariffs for Internet services were approved in the country in February 2021. The payment was reduced to 50 percent in accordance with the new tariffs.

Due to the increasing demand of users for high-speed streaming Internet, an increase in the volume of the Internet network is required.

As reported, Turkmenistan reduced tariffs for use of the Internet traffic on ADSL technology and unlimited Internet through ADSL, VDSL, and hire a dedicated info channel.

Reduced tariffs are provided separately for the population of cities, for the rural population in districts, for state-owned enterprises and organizations, private entrepreneurs, non-state legal entities without foreign investors (business companies, individual enterprises, etc.), and for scientific and educational institutions of Turkmenistan.

Internet services in Turkmenistan are provided by Turkmentelecom and AGTS.

Currently, the sphere of communications and telecommunications is rapidly becoming one of the most promising and dynamically developing sectors of the national economy.

Thus, the decree of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov approved seven priority areas for the development of domestic science, including communications, especially in the field of development of modern communication technologies and production automation.
