Work over the development of data on the state of the Information Technologies (IT) in Azerbaijan is complete. The relevant work was set up late 2005 by the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan jointly with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies. The Ministry told Trend that the statistic data will be publicized at the presentation, while the date of the event is still to be defined.
The objective of the work was to define the level of development of information society in Azerbaijan, in particular, in the direction of definition of the use of Internet and different IT services. So far, there were indices on technical parameters of the communications technologies, such as number of telephone numbers per 100 subscribers.
The work was implemented on the base on an agreement signed between the State Statistic Committee and the Communications Ministry.
