As many as, 8,186 cars and light commercial vehicles were sold in Kazakhstan in November 2020, which is 18.5 percent compared to November 2019, Trend reports citing data Association of Kazakhstan AutoBusiness (AKAB).
In the reporting month, the number of trucks and buses amounted to 1,034 units, having surged by 56.7 percent year on year.
In the past 11 months of 2020, the car market grew by 24 percent to 82,683 sold cars. From January through November 2019, the number of sold cars was 66,729.
“The market is showing annual growth of over 24 percent. With a shortage of the most popular models, dealers try to contract consumers in order to keep prices and make the best offer for buyers. Ahead is the culmination of the New Year's race and two weeks of active sales,” said Anar Makashev, AKAB Vice-President.
Hyundai leads the ten best-selling passenger car brands in November; dealers, including the launch of the new Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan plant in Almaty, sold 2,166 cars, a record this year (+30 percent compared to November last year).
It took less than six months for Chevrolet cars of Kostanay "SaryarkaAvtoProm" to break into the top three sales leaders - 1,865 units. Lada with the result of 1,193 cars is on the third line -18 percent.
Toyota with 719 units sold moved down to rank four in November (a decrease of 43 percent). Kia is in fifth place - 506 units ( an increase of 1 percent). Volkswagen is sixth (297 units). The seventh position belongs to JAC - 296 units.
Chevrolet Nexia became the leader in the model standings - 1,004 sedans sold in November, Hyundai Accent is in second place (982 units), third is Chevrolet Cobalt (619 units). Lada Granta is in fourth place (606 units). Hyundai Tucson is in fifth place (524 units). Hyundai Creta ranks sixth (369 units).
