Volume of cargo loaded, unloaded in Iran’s Noshahr port shrinks

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in Noshahr port in northern Iran decreased by 0.7 percent in the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), compared to the preceding Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 through March 19, 2020), Trend reports citing the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, a total of 794,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the port last Iranian year. Of this, 20,700 tons were loaded and 774,000 tons were unloaded.

“Furthermore, 20,600 tons of cargo were exported and 773,000 tons were imported through the Noshahr port over the last Iranian year,” the statistics said.

During last Iranian year, 542 tons of cargo were unloaded in this port for transit, as well as, 47 tons of cargo were loaded for cabotage, the statistics said.

Also, 5 tons of cargo were loaded and 298 tons were unloaded in the port for other purposes last Iranian year.

According to the statistics, about 719,000 tons of essential products, 9 tons of metal products, 79 tons of construction and mining materials, 780 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts, 1,660 tons of chemicals, 72,400 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials and 85 tons of container products were loaded and unloaded in the Noshahr port within last Iranian year.

Reportedly, a total of 123 million tons of goods were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports last Iranian year. This is a decrease of 18.1 percent compared to the preceding year. So, 150 million tons of goods were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the preceding year.
