Iran to launch new roads in number of provinces

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 13

Iran will launch new roads in 17 provinces in order to increase the number of transport routes and increase the number of communication lines within the North-South and North-West Corridors on July 15, 2021, Trend reports citing Construction and Development of Transportation Infrastructure Company (CDTIC).

According to the report, a total of 321 km of roads will be launched in the country. Of this, 88 kilometers are trunk roads and 233 kilometers – highways. A total of 30.6 trillion rials (about $729 million) has been spent on these roads.

“So, 20 km of highways will be launched in West Azerbaijan Province, 28 km of highways in Bushehr Province, 35 km of highways in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province, 25 km of trunk roads and highways in South Khorasan Province, 11 km of trunk roads in Razavi Khorasan Province, 13 km of highways in North Khorasan Province, 14 km of highways in Khuzestan Province and 10 km of trunk roads in Semnan Province,” the report said.

In addition, 43 km of trunk roads and highways will be launched in Sistan and Baluchestan Province, 10 km of trunk roads and highways in Fars Province, 24 km of trunk roads in Kerman Province, 12.5 km of highways in Golestan Province, 5 km of trunk roads in Gilan Province, 28.5 km of highways in Lorestan Province, 20 km of highways in Markazi Province, 10 km of highways in Hormozgan Province and 17 km of highways in Yazd Province, the report said.

Reportedly, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani will attend the event dedicated to the launch of roads in an online format.
