The main motors and diesel generators of 8 ships in the Imam Khomeini port of the Khuzestan Province (south-western Iran) were repaired during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2021), Trend reports referring to the Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the report, a total of 60 billion rials (about $1.43 million) has been spent on the repair work.

As reported, Iran's Imam Khomeini port, located on 11,000 hectares, has the capacity to load and unloaded 54.5 million tons of cargo per year.

A total of 3.7 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Imam Khomeini port in the 5th month of the current Iranian year (June 23 through August 22, 2021). This is a decrease of about 13 percent, compared to the 4th month (June 22 through July 22, 2021).
