Number of passenger planes received by Iranian airports soars

The number of passenger planes landed at and took off from Iranian airports, increased by 55 percent during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through July 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, this was reflected in the statistics of Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company (IAC), Trend reports.

According to the statistics, a total of 106,842 passenger planes landed at and took off from Iranian airports in 4 months. Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, the figure stood at 68,802.

In total, 8,317,291 passengers were transported through Iranian airlines in 4 months, which is an increase of 35 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. So this figure amounted to 6,174,905 in the same period last Iranian year.

Furthermore, 72,600 tons of cargo were transported via airlines in Iran during the reporting period, which is 57 percent more than in the same period last Iranian year. Thus, 46,300 tons of cargo were transported in the same period last Iranian year.

According to the statistics, 28,661 passenger planes landed at and took off from Iranian airports in the 4th month of the current Iranian year (June 22 through July 22, 2021). This is an increase of 27 percent, compared the same month last Iranian year, as well as 3 percent, compared to the 3rd month (May 22 through June 21, 2021).

“Also, 2,283,266 people were transported via airlines in Iran in the 4th month, which is 13 percent more than in the same month last Iranian year, while 2 percent more than in the third month,” the statistics said.

About 17,400 tons of cargo were transported in the 4th month. This is an increase of 29 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year and 2 percent compared to the 3rd month.
